Freightliner COE confusion!
Published 25/04/2007 @ 18:03:09, By dwayne
Well I've notice in the way of Freightliner cab overs there seems to be a lot of confusion. So I asked around at Hanks and got a good answer on models and years made.. so heres the explanation..

WFT - 194? - 1976 - Started out as a bubblenose then the front was flattened in about '53. The tilt cab came in '58. The cab looked basically the same for the next 40 years. The cab was made wider in about 1968.

FLT - 1977 - 1989 - Basically looked like the WFT. The standard headlights went from Round to rectangular in '85. Also in 1985 the grill was changed and the nameplate went from above the grill onto the grill. Sometime toward the end of its production run a set back axle version was introduced.

FLA - 1990 - 1992 - The most noticable change was the windshield.

FLB - 1993 - 1998 - Went to the current style grill. The headlight area was also changed to a kind of flared-out design.

ARGOSEY (not sure of the FLx designation) - 1998 - 2007 - Completely redesigned truck

A 6342 would be a 63" cab and a 4x2.

A 7542 would be a 75" cab and a 4X2.

A 9664 would be a 96" cab and a 6X4.

A 10464 would be a 104" cab and a 6x4.

A 10864 would be a 108 " cab and a 6X4.
