OK, soon after the movie starts, Dennis picks up Arnie from his home and drives to school in his Charger. When they are talking, a short portion of a song is playing, Arnie turns it off.I think it might be 'Beast of Burden' by The Rolling Stones. Can anyone think of another possible Outcome?

Was it Beast of Burden? I just watched that scene and they didn't play much of it.

"Beast of Burden" is played when 2 of the crooks are being chased by Christine later in the movie I think. When we see Dennis' Dodge Charger at the beginning of the movie (when he goes on to pick up Arnie) it's Tanya Tucker's version of "Not Fade Away" that's playing (if I'm not mistaken). By the by there's a compilation of all the songs played in the movie available through file sharing.

Uh-huh.I might have second thoughts about 'Beast of Burden' now.As the bullys drove their Camareo 'Beast of Burden' was playing then. After the 'Not Fade Away' song, Dennis picks Arnie up.When they are driving to school Arnie turns the a song off which is playing.I watched it recently.

Tanya Tucker's cover of "Not Fade Away" by Buddy Holly.
Interestingly the Buddy Holly original song is played in Detroit in 1957 car factory then as the movie transitions through time and place to Rockbridge, California September, 12, 1978 the cover version by Tanya Tucker plays. "As Dennis drives charger down the road to pick up Arnie."

No, it's the ABBA song, "The Name of the Game." I was amused he turned off ABBA.
