Has your car ever been vandalized?

Hi...
This question comes to my mind after I found this page today: www.brennende.autos.de. It's about arson attacks on expensive cars in Berlin. 286 burned cars in the last couple of month.
The only incident with my car (19 year old Ford Escort) was a twisted wiper.
Bye,

Broken window:
They did it so well that they damaged the B-pillar, so the door had to be replaced.
They wanted to steal the GPS I guess, but they didn't see that the receiver was at the rear of the car instead of the front (and the PocketPC used as GPS was not in the car).
So they just took the security triangle and an umbrella.

But that's a break-in done in order to steal something rather than an act of mindless vandalism. The motivation behind theft is easier to understand than vandalism.
Somebody once pulled the rear window wiper off my old Renault Clio a few years ago, when I was living in a flat in Southampton, although actually I wasn't that annoyed about it because it was an old, cheap little car and the general appearance of it hadn't been spoiled apart from the rear wiper being missing. I was actually a little bemused because I wondered why someone would want to vandalise an old bog-standard Clio (1991), it was an innocuous car that I can't imagine anyone would be jealous of, when at the time there was a convertible Mercedes CLK parked on the road opposite it and the vandal had completely ignored it! Perhaps he was drunk or something. Anyway I soon replaced the wiper, the time when my mother reversed into my Clio putting big dent in the side doors spoiled the car a lot more! I was very pissed off at her sheer clumsiness, she just reversed without even looking (my mum can be pretty dopey at times, and you know women drivers ) but I got over it but the dent never got fixed, it would have cost too much considering how little the car was worth.
Also I once noticed a four inch scratch beneath the wing mirror (not very noticeable because from most angles the wing mirror blocked it out), when I worked at the Ordnance Survey headquarters in Southampton I had to park in one of the housing streets nearby because there was no parking provided and I understand that this annoyed local residents, so perhaps it was some spiteful person who lived on that road. Again I wasn't that bothered.

My greenmetallic K 70 once was broken off. The damage was fortunately not too big, the door-lock was pierced. From me was stolen only an quite empty sports-bag with nothing valuable inside. But from my friend, who was with me, they took a bag full with original K 70-brochures, which he wanted to give to the others. Surely they were thrown away later.
Some more K 70 were broken off, too. We went around for a sighseeing-walk. It happened in Holland, in Roermond. We also were sure, who was it. some Arabian teenagers, which hang around there. The policeman told us, that this dark, unwatched parking was well known for that things.
The place is gone now. Now threre stands the big, well known Roermond outlet-center.
Once my NSU 1200 C was damaged. But unintended, I would say. Its engine-hood was, typical for NSU's, stood always open (I cannot count, how often the people had given signs to me: "Your trunk-hood is open!!" )
One night, the cars stood on a parking of a disco. When I came back, the hood was bended and not close again. I would say, some (probably drunken) guys wanted to look inside, had opened the hood, but couldn't close it any more. NSU's have a hidden holding-bracket, which had to be released for closing.

When I had my 190E, the hood ornament was ripped off in front a disco. That's normal course of a Mercedes driver's life: the star emblem is the most needed spare part. Punks decorate their leather jackets with it and school kids collect sneaker boxes full of them to prove their coolness. Or imbecility, I don't know.

Back in the early 60s, I had – as some members may recall – a yellow Morris Mini. I had parked it in Birmingham one chilly winter evening; when I came back for it, someone had tried to break in, apparently by placing a length of tubing over the driver’s door-handle and sharply pushing it down. Unfortunately for the thief – and for me – the shank broke inside the door, which meant I was unable to unlock the door and get in. I called the RAC; but before the patrol arrived a policeman appeared, apparently under the impression that I was drunk because I was shivering. I had just finished explaining when the RAC patrol arrived. He cheerfully produced a length of stiff wire, suitably bent, with which he opened the driver’s side window (sliding in 1963) and opened the door from the inside. The policeman had watched this proceeding with great interest, and pointed out to the patrolman that he was technically in possession of a device for stealing cars; the RAC man simply gave him a dirty look, said goodnight to me and got back into his van.

I never have had any of my vehicles vandalized, but I did have a neighbor once, who had his car vandalized (presumably at night) someone spray painted a small peace symbol (circle with an upside-down "Y" centre) in Black on the back bumper. The car was Red so it was still noticeable.

Just last night My Acura got egged. Seriously! They smeered it all over the driver's side door, the fender, parts of the tire, and the side mirror. The result? They chipped off a small bit of the paint on the door, and it might have ruined the finish! I am so pissed off! My neighbor's mercedes and Nissan also got egged, but they weren't as mad as I was.

2 months ago, the bumper of my 1985 Toyota Cressida was damaged while I parked my car in the car park of Carrefour. It was crashed by some careless driver
and about a year ago, the wheel cap and the part of the wheel bearing went missing when I parked my car at a public parking lot.
The original wheel looks like this
