Vehicle validating
Published 19/01/2010 @ 12:03:59, By kegare
Hi, I have a complain to make. Everytime I contribute with something, only half the vehicles I upload are listed. And I mean that the admin garco deletes them every time. I am not posting non-identifiable vehicles and I don't know why does he delete them since they are seen more than enough to be identified. I know the limits very well and I know exactly how this sending system works since I am an admin on IGCD too, but here I came to the conclusion that he only accepts what he likes. If you look in his comments, all he do is complain about pictures and nothing else. And why only garco validates pictures and not any other admins too? Villero was fine at accepting contributions, but I don't know garco's problem. Can't a more competent admin validate the vehicles we are sending? Is this site accepting pictures or what? If not, then it's useless to contribute anymore. :ohwell:

What makes you think it is Garco?
I asked in admin section, the guilty one did not reply, but Garco said that when he deleted non-validated vehicles he has put these in comments.
If you give me examples of movie for which it happened I can check who deleted the vehicles (there are too many new contributions, I could not find a recent one from you amongst the others).

We are discussing who deleted these cars in the admin-only section of the forum. Garco has said he didn't validate these pics and that he will put vehicles that aren't worth listing (even if identified) in comments, most of us follows that system. We have not yet found out who validated the pictures of yours. If you like, you could reupload those images that were deleted, that would be fine. I also validate many pictures, and I know you always get good pictures, so I don't really know why they were deleted.

Ps.: I have a question for you kegare. We have noticed that all your comments on IGCD are somehow missing. Rinspeed says that no one but the user himself/herself can delete them. Did you delete them yourself?

I am sure, otherwise I wouldn't have posted, It's not the first time. The best example I can give you is here - http://imcdb.org/movie.php?id=1123970 where I uploaded ~25 vehicles but only 16 are posted, therefore lots of vehicles from the movie are missing, same with other movies.

Lateef - Yes, I deleted my comments on IGCD. I want to keep only my contributions there.

On that one it is indeed Garco... but he only deleted 4 vehicles
Can you give other movies as example?

Honestly, I can't remember for sure the vehicles but there were more times when I found them missing after uploading. 2-3 times. And, if it's possible to check the history of more recent movies submitted by simple users (non-admins), please do. I am sure that you will find lots of deleted vehicles, he only validates what he likes, I think this fact is debatable by looking in his posts where there are only complains about pictures. I am not the only one whose pictures are deleted frequently. Maybe some feature would be useful where you (the webmaster) can see what was accepted or not.
Anyway, all that matters is that he deletes the vehicles we're sending, which should not be allowed.

In the movie of which I gave the link, amongst the 4 delete ones there were a Renault & a 306 on which I agree that they were not really worth listing (less than half of them visible, on the side of the pic), I do not know what were the 2 others.

I can't easily have the list of recent movies from a given user (I could but it is probably easier for you to remember the few ones you submitted lately, or pick them from http://www.imcdb.org/movies.php?contrib=kegare )

After your first complain I posted in the admin section a comment saying that non-validated vehicles that are not obviously too bad should be left as unvalidated at least one or two days so user can either justify them or put them in comment.

In previous contribution system, through forum, the one who was adding vehicles could still skip some, so this does not change much compared to before.
I do not have time to check everything...
I already have to check for background cars that some admins send (sixcyl... )

I did not see this message until know, but I delete only what is too background. And yes, that is what I find too background. (and many others)

When I was starting validating I did not upload the deleted ones in the comments, but from a couple of weeks ago I do.

I am not posting non-identifiable vehicles

As said many times, that's not an argument.

Indeed, and often the fact that it is easy to identify means that it is not rare, so less worth listing
