I previously owned a used 2008 Toyota Yaris, until that was totaled in a car crash in 2011. I then bought a new 2011 Mazda2, but unfortunately that car was repossessed & auctioned earlier this year since I found myself unemployed and unable to pay for the car anymore (and US social security was unhelpful). I loved that car, I won't ever have a car like that again
Now that I have a job again, I'm going to buy a used 1987-1991 Toyota Camry since extensive research has shown me that it's the best bang for my buck. Plus I still see them around my city quite often. Next year I'll get a second car so that I never get screwed over again like I did this year.

I owned three cars in my life, all registered on my name. But the first two suffered a painful ending.
1993 BMW 318i - I never wanted to own a german car but my father persuaded me that a BMW is the best first car you can afford. It was a good car and i was fine with it. But i blew up the radiator three times! First time i was stuck in the snow and when i was almost free, the radiator blew up. Second and third time the car was simply overheating in Stop-and-Go-Traffic. At the third time, the water balance can was destroyed and my father replaced it. One month after the repairs of the radiator, i had a horrible crash on 22 November 2012. I crashed head on into an Audi A6 fresh off the line. The Audi driver has received this brand new Audi while his old Ford Mondeo was in repair. Luckily there were no fatalities.
1999 Chrysler Stratus 2.5 LX - It had only 57.000 kilometers on the odometer when i bought it. White leather seats and all electronic stuff that was available in 1999. Remote window control, seat heating, cruise control and Sentry key - Stratus was one of the first cars to have it! Sentry key makes it harder to steal a car, because you need to replace or modify the engine control unit in order to override the sentry key function. This was my most favorite car and i promised to never sell it again. But then i suffered my biggest lost and i tried to keep away my tears. In April 2015 i was driving to my work and i knew the road very well. There is some part with no junctions and you can drive very easily. I passed a bus stopping at a bus stop and didnt worry about the guy in front of me, because he was far away. For some seconds i looked into the rear mirror to check if i am clear to get in my lane again after overtaking the bus. Everything was okay, but when i looked to the front again, the blue van in front came to a complete halt. It was already too late for me but i braked as hard as i could. With an estimated speed of 35 km/h i crashed into the rear of the blue van. While i only suffered minor injuries my car was totalled. We tried everything to fix it but it was destroyed beyond repair.
2000 Chrysler Stratus 2.5 LX - My third car is almost identical to the old one. The electronics are working fine and i had no problems yet. But two things are negative: It has more kilometers on the odometer and it has black leather seats! I hate black leather seats. They are ugly and they are heating up too much. Maybe some day i will replace the seats with white leather seats.

The announced
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=75277
project was finished this morning. Now I'm the proud owner of
O.k., I've bought it for my brother-in-law, but i've paid it, so actually it's mine.
And I can drive it!
Although I never was a fan of small and micro cars, I'm impressed about its agility. The acceleration is really impressive, for dimensions better than a Käfer, Trabant or NSU Prinz 4.
And of course very useful for small parking lots
Now I'll try to find out more about this specific model, because it's an extreme rare special edition, a "Jubileum Special", of which only 50 were made, exclusively for NL
It's the only hyper-super-duper-fully equipped Reliant Regal in history!
Alloy rims, brown paintwork, brown interior-cloth, heatable back window, heating, electric vent, standing-lights, interval-wiper, electric wiper-water-pump, foglight, reverse light, all this high-end-topics this car has, are exclusive for this edition.
Now I'll try to find out, if there are more suvivors.

I guess you've found out that these aren't as bad as some people make out (probably based solely on that Top Gear skit).

It's hyper-rare for a reason - they are total shite. No idea why NL got a special Jubileum edition - probably some sort of EU special aid package organised by Brussels for deprived areas instead of something NL actually wanted. There was a UK Jubilee edition from April 77 on Robin Super saloon and estate which looks as if some common features but differences as well - red paint, silver coachlines, silver upholstery/carpets/roof lining, Jubilee insignia on rear window and wheel hubs. Not sure what the Jubilee was except for Lizzie's 25th. The best thing you can do with is this - both for your sake and the rest of mankind.

The Best of British. Congratulations, ingo.
This is why I removed the windshield mirror, often too distracting. The side mirrors are enough to check behind. (Illegal though.)

Congratulations from me, too. Compared to this little gem, all the clunkers I've had so far were luxury cars. At least it does have some character indeed and it cannot rust.

More and more I got the impression, that this car is an extreme rarity, maybe even the only existing survivor. When I google "Reliant Robin Jubileum 1978", the only pics and informations, which appear, were uploaded and written by previous owners of this specific car, for example:
http://www.carrelation.nl/autoverhalen/214/reliant-jubileum-special--1978/de-uitvoering-van-deze-robin
http://www.carrelation.nl/oldtimers/972/reliant-jubileum-special--1978
and the -probably soon deleted: advertise:
http://www.speurders.nl/overzicht/autos/klassiekers-en-oldtimers/robin-reliant-jubileum-uitvoering-1-v-d-50-154224081.html?trv_cid=b80acd9e391ff11332357da09c380c4428858294
Due the first text I know, that these 50 made Jubileum-cars has nothing to do with the UK-Jubilee-model from 1977.
They were made in 1978 for the 10th anniversary of the Dutch Importer Waaijenberg
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waaijenberg
- http://www.waaijenberg.com/
To find out more, I've registrated myself for the German, the Dutch and the British Reliant-forums.
Well, maybe it's really an unique Holy Grail

Currently i drive a first Generation 2000 Toyota Yaris while my Chrysler is in repair (failed TÜV test).
The Gearbox sucks. Its awful and you have absolutely no feedback of what gear you are in. All Gears are so close together that you think you are in an universal gear.
This car is small and thats a pity for me as my Chrysler Stratus has twice the size of a Yaris. But the height inside is wonderful! You are feeling like you sit in a mobilized cathedral while the pope sits bound and gagged in the trunk.
Yeah trunk, good that i mention it. The trunk is... how can i describe it? Have you ever tried to go shopping with a Smart? Even that amount of shopping doesnt fit in the Yaris. Its so small that the repair shop owner had no warning triangle in his car. I took the Chrysler triangle instead and laid it on the rear seats.
But i already made an achievement: Didnt stall on the first test drive (Two Kilometer).

Yep, the boot space is not much with my 5-door Chevrolet Aveo
I have the travel cooler in it for my cold products when I do my grocery shopping and still have some room left for other items there

Cars older than 30 years doesn't cost anything except the insurance. My newer cars cost about 1500-2500 SEK each year in tax. But I don't have the 245 'in trafic' right now so it doesn't cost anything either.
