The OpenALPR Cloud API is a web service running in the cloud that analyzes images of vehicles and responds with license plate data, as well as vehicle color, make, model, and body type.

As an example, I uploaded a movie screen capture taken from Premium Rush and uploaded and recognized the vehicle correctly ( https://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_553844-Chevrolet-HHR-GMT001-2011.html ), and a picture of a Chinese Rolls identified as a Fiat. It seems to work better with US plates.
