Opel/Vauxhall chassis codes
Published 14/12/2023 @ 13:29:45, By AleX_DJ
I notice that we rarely use model codes for more recent Opel/Vauxhall vehicles. Since the 1980s, I believe since the merging of the Opel and Vauxhall ranges, and until the PSA takeover, there are precise model codes for every vehicle produced, including the one provided by other carmakers in joint-venture. Following ones I could find so far:

Opel/Vauxhall chassis codes

In the past it was that codes were only to be used where there wasn't a MK/Generation entered, for searching purposes. Which is why they were never added for things like Opel/Vauxhall and European Ford, but always things like BMW and Mercedes. (Noting that some brands like VW did end up using both). This just seems like hours of work for antp for limited gain.

Indeed, I don't really see the point of using chassis codes for vehicles like that if they are not widely known/used by the enthusiasts of these car models.
We already use too many chassis codes for some makes, I think.
