I like the EU taillights on that Caprice. If I had a Caprice I would have to buy some. I like having EU spec lights over here as It is different, I put EU spec taillights on my 1996 Mustang GT, I also put EU spec head and taillights on my 1991 Canadian Spec Pontiac Tempest. One of my Geo Trackers has UK Spec Vitara head, taillights and rear bumper. and 2003 Chevrolet Express has an "Export Only" rear bumper with rear foglights installed.

The new SAAB 9-5:

I saw one yesterday and one today but both were masked prototypes, this one is owned by SAAB and is some kind of preproduction car.

It's definitely such a shame that we most likely wont see it in production on the roads. Despite the headlights still looking like they've got too much eyeliner on, it looks really nice and definitely wouldve been an improvement over the previous 9-5. A damn shame.

Right now they are changing all the tools in the factory for this car and they have 2000 cars that's ordered that they must deliver, also it will probably take some years to close down the factory so atleast a few will be built.

Supposedly the 9-5 will become the next Buick large size sedan.

At first: Happy new Year to all around! Am I the first one in 2010 in this forum?

Here a list of the 2009'worst selling cars in Germany: http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/fotostrecke-50275.html
Sorry, all the Cadillac-lovers: Three Caddies are included
I guess, it's the whole model-range, available over here.

Prosit Neujahr!

I'm surprised that only 60 Nissan Navaras were sold, since Nissan is hardly a small or obscure make. As for Cadillac, selling only 28 of the BLS is especially embarrassing since the model was designed for the European market. Anyway, Cadillac cancelled the BLS last summer because sales were so low.

Annother deep hit for German Cadillac-fans, as I just have read in the comments under this article: the German importer is in bankrupcy: http://www.kroymans-deutschland.de/fileadmin/regionale-webseite-nrw.html

The last years Cadilac had no own sales office here, it was organized by this dealer (for several brands, not only GM- or US-cars) nearby Düsseldorf.

As it's written there, Ssangyong Germany is also insolvence.

But rather the Chinese Buick. As I've read, a Chinese company has bought the construction documents and production-tools of the 9-3 and 9-5 and want to produce these models in the own plant.

So I guess, that there is the possibility, that this model could have a real long life - but abroad. Think about the Bajaj-Tempo-vans or the Royal Enfield Bullet.

The Wikipedia entry for the Saab 9-5 says that Beijing Automotive Group has bought the rights to the first generation 9-5. Separately, there's a rumour that the second generation model will be rebadged as an Opel and/or Buick.

Orange Bond Bug in Edinburgh. Saw it parked up on Chambers Street and then it drove past me a few minutes later. I didn't get a pic as I was in a hurray to catch my train.

This afternoon I saw a Polish-registered Mercedes-Benz Sprinter towing a trailer which in turn carried a Volkswagen Golf (UK registered) with a smashed-up front. I wonder if perhaps the Golf is an insurance write-off bought by a Polish dealer to dismantle for parts.

For sure. In the last months I've seen several big trucks from Poland, but more from Lithuania, which had carried used RHD-cars from Britain, mostly quite new crashed cars, so insurance-write-offs.
Many VW and Audi they transported, also Vauxhalls like Astra and Zafira.

Now, since Poland is in the EU, it's getting less, but our Autobahn were full with hundreds of Polish vans with trailers, who carried newer crashed cars back home for repairing. Before the EU-access, they were always in parts. Engines and axles were mounted off and packed besides the carcasses. It was due a Polish import-rule.

But since a short time the traffic is going in the other direction  No kidding!
I've seen some Polish trucks, loaded with older Japanese cars (mid-90ies and older) with Polish plates, too, carrying them to the West, to Rotterdam for shipping them to Africa!

Today I spotted a Citroën CX Break and a Subaru 1800L, both of which are rare cars in Oslo now.
