A new idea for the site

Antp, are you still against putting movie title stills in the header of film pages? As I said in my first comment, it would look like the page layout IGCD uses: http://www.igcd.net/movie.php?id=10000156&width=1024

Instead of thumbnails I would rather use images displayed as a whole image, except shrunk down to 150 pixels high, like this: http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/2428/tswlm2vb3.jpg

If you don't want to have them in the header, then maybe we'll display them in the first comment of the page. Some members already display thumbnails of movie title stills, but I want to use an image like I've shown above (IGCD uses that size, it isn't too big but still big enough to see the details of a picture).

My idea is to put them in the first comment of the page, like now
(I don't know if my opinion counts :chut: :clindoeil: )

You can put that in comments, if you want bigger pics than imageshack thumbnails you can put that one as normal image rather than as thumbnail...

Right, I'm going to start posting images in the comments of film pages and I'd like you to move them to the top of the comments (or you could fix that function so I could do it myself).

Why not add it in first comment even if it is not yours?

Because it won't look as good if I add it next to someone's comment.

As far as aesthetics go, I like the bigger film capture titles ...

Antp, could you please fix it so admins can move a comment to the top of the page?

I dont think we are able to do that in any way, i think it was me the first one to ever ask him to move some thumbnails i posted to the top of the page, he explained to me at the time how he did it and it was kind of taking the number of an old removed comment or something like that and then putting it up on the top by using the date, i think he told me it was kind of misleading the database or something similar, he'll explain better than me of course but i dont think its something we can do by ourselves.

Well I could add a link in each comment "move to top" like there is a link "delete" or "edit", but the reasons why there isn't any are:
- I didn't take time for making that yet
- I am still not sure that it is a good idea to make that: images of comments moved to top are not backuped with other newly posted images, as they are considered as "old" images. Though that it is the same problem with images added in old comments.

Well I'm going to post more title captures for films I've done, like I did with the Bond films, so when you time, could you move them to the top of the comments? Thanks for doing this for the Bond films by the way

For most of the movies there aren't many comment (or no comment at all)

If first comment already contains movie images or comments which are not just talk, you can put your images in that one.

Even if there's only a couple of comments there, can you still move the image to the top, please? In some cases I've archived "obsolete" comments.

If I could I'd buy you a pint for doing this

But this is why I asked you if you could fix it so I could do it myself.

You quickly consider comments as "obsolete", don't you?

As I said if I add that feature it will be too often used for posting thumbnails of cars which then would not be backuped...
