Not all those cars are impudent copies.

The "Hummer-Klon" is the Dongfeng Motors EQ2050, a licensed version of the AM General HMMWV.

The Haima M2, which Spiegel Online says is a rip-off of the Mazda2, is made by FAW Haima, a joint venture between FAW and Mazda based in Hainan island (hence the name).

According to this site, Rolls Royce may seek legal action against Geely because the Geely GE looks so much like the Rolls Royce Phantom. But Geely swears the GE is not similar to the Phantom. Ahh, keep dreaming Geely!

GM executives demonstrated the extent of the design duplication, noting for example that the doors of the QQ and those of the Spark are interchangeable without modification.

At least they copied it very well :ddr555:

Waahaa, the Matiz is a piece of sh.. anyways - and there is even a worse copy of that junk existing? Unbelievable.

Some weeks ago, on our company-parking-area, a colleague has closed the door of his Matiz - the sound was disgusting, something between a Wartburg-door and a Coke-can...

In 2006 I had a Dahaitsu Terios as a rental car (at a great place, the island Rapa Nui). Before that I have never noticed, that this model was existing. I even couldn't remember the name (but Antoine has helped me, right here at IMCDB  )
With the Terios we had offered a little show for the people around the island's gas station: we couldn't find the handle for the fuel-cap. 4 people were creeping around and inside the car, but without success. A Polynesian girl on a scooter has it finally shown to us: hidden at the driver's seat.

IIRC, the story behind the Chery QQ is that some sacked Daewoo engineers made copies of the CAD files for the Matiz and another model, and sold them to Chery. This explains why the doors fit perfectly.
