For model car collectors out there, do you have a personal favorite in your collection? I have a few favorites.

1.
-Year: 1969
-Make: Pontiac
-Model: GTO (The Judge)
-Model Brand: Red Box Toy Co.
-Scale: 1:24
-Color: Green

I also like my small collection of old Ford trucks:
http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o129/Explorer4x4/IMG_4246.jpg
2-5.From left to right: 1956 Ford F-100 (unknown brand, 1:36 scale), 1956 Ford F-100 (RoadChamps, unknown scale), 1953 Ford F-200 Big Job tow truck (Race Champions, unknown scale) and a custom-painted 1956 Ford F-100. The last one is a Matchbox model, and I painted it to match my Dad's old F-300 (with replaced yellow hood and door, and a black body).

7.

8-10. And my 'junk yard' cars. I got them off my little brother, and they were pretty much killed (wheels were all bent), and they were the perfect scale for my Lionel layout. So I added them to my layout's junk yard. I bent them up and made them look more like junk yard cars and not just broken toys. The red one is 1959 Chrysler 300E Convertible by NewRay. The navy blue one is a 1958 Buick Century convertible, also by NewRay. The light blue model is a 1955 Chrysler 300C Convertible and is another NewRay.

Right now I'm obsessed with my '63 Cadillac hearse (Matchbox 1/81):

My favorite model (that I actually painted and built) is my '66 Mercury (AMT 1/24):

My favorite die-cast is my Pinto (Motor Max 1/24):

My favorite model is a 1/24 scale '93 Dodge Intrepid, mostly because it's the only car I've owned that I've also had a model of (I'm still on the lookout for an '87-'91 F-150, but that seems to be the hardest generation to find).

Other than that, it's not mine, but it's in a display case behind my desk at work, so I hope that counts for something, is a 1/12 '06 Corvette. It's big enough that the level of detail is pretty impressive, there's even fuzz in the carpeted areas (it feels like the interior plastics are of the same quality too).

I actually will have had every model of my family's cars with the coming of the Tempo. Although, none are the right years (right generations and colors though). I've got a 1996 Caravan, a 1999 F-150 and soon the 84' Tempo. The Tempo, as you will likely guess, will be the new Number 1.

It is hard to say which one is my favourite model. I like the 1/18th Holden (HSV) Commodore from AutoArt as it is really well done, with a very detailed inside:
http://www.antp.be/pic/miniatures/00000004.jpg
I also find nice the 1/43th Peugeot 206 SW from Norev, as it is similar to the one that I have for real.
model: http://www.antp.be/pic/miniatures/00000016.jpg
real: http://www.antp.be/pic/206_20031013_s.jpg
I also have my ex-Peugeot 106:
model: http://www.antp.be/pic/miniatures/00000356.jpg (from Prestige, not very good, but it is the only 3-door 106 S2 that exists :ohwell: )
real: http://www.antp.be/pic/106_20010814_s.jpg
and the Peugeot 205 on which I learned to drive:
model: http://www.antp.be/pic/miniatures/00000404.jpg (old Solido model)
real: http://www.antp.be/pic/mp_peugeot205.jpg
I started to get 1/43th models (as here it is the most common scale) of the cars that I had for real mostly because my father is doing that since long time

I had luck to find that one for 20$ (+ the same for shipping costs, as I bought it on ebay US :ohwell: still much cheaper than buying it here as currently euro is higher than dollar) but usually the normal cost of these AutoArt models is around 40-80$ depending on the models I think.

Yea, shipping is insane on eBay (even when shipping within the U.S.) Still sounds like a deal, for $20.

It is not the fault of Ebay, it is USPS I guess.
Well, usually I buy from Ebay.be members, and postage costs asked by most of the people are those that the belgian post asks (3.7 € for a package up to 2 kg)

You mean AU$ ? That makes 60 €, it more or less matches what I said (one year ago the US$ was not so low compared to euro)

I have more model cars than I can count, but I'll list some of my favorites:

My most valued model car, a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria NYC taxi

http://i28.tinypic.com/125qe0y.jpg

http://i29.tinypic.com/iyfujq.jpg

My 1997 NYPD Ford Crown Victoria. I bought this model in a shop in the Times Square subway station on my visit to New York

I am also quite fond of my 1996 Chevrolet Caprice NYC taxi

http://i29.tinypic.com/209kjeh.jpg

http://i28.tinypic.com/2qn8u3k.jpg

And of course my 1959 Cadillac

http://i26.tinypic.com/k3azyg.jpg

Unfortunately, in the process of taking this picture I dropped the model on the floor and it is wrecked  No more Caddy for me, I guess...

All the little plastic pieces like the windshield and trim pieces are either broken off or bent. I guess I'll save it anyway, but it looks like crap
It was only a $10 model, not too much of a loss. Next time I visit the Renaissance Center in Detroit (GM's corperate headquarters, where I purchased the model), I might pick up another one. Maybe in bright red this time

Anyway, the Caprice and the NYPD Vic are both 1/24. The Cadillac is... well was 1/34. Not sure about the Vic taxi, but I know it's a smaller scale than the Caddy. Maybe something like 1/40 or so? I don't know much about which scales are normally used :ohwell:
