List by Date?
Published 12/05/2007 @ 22:18:17, By turboale
Hello All,
Forgive me if this has been posted 100x times but I was wondering what the first car to ever be used in a film was and when that film was released? I tried searching, scoured the website and could not find this information so I decided to jump on here and ask. I am writing a paper on cars in films for a History of Film class and this would be great in my opening paragraph.

Thanks for the help!

Like for the list by stars recently mentioned (here), you can list by car year, though that you will get first all the cars without year, so it is a little difficult to find the page with the oldest cars (start from the middle of pages list, move by group of 50 pages, etc.)
Currently it is around page 169, but depending on what is identified or added to the site you may have to go to next pages if you see makes starting by "y" or "z", or go to previous pages if you see cars of the 1910s/1920s:
http://www.imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=2&makeMatch=2&make=&modelMatch=- 1&model=&page=169
On the search page you can get the oldest movie, e.g. those made before 1910:
http://www.imcdb.org/movies.php?titleMatch=0&title=&yearMatch=2&year=1910&movieType=- -1

Is it me or can you only view it by "brand and year"? Every time I select to view by year it still splits them up by brand alphabetically then by year. Is there any way to view by year only or am I missing something?

Thanks!

They are sorted by year and then by brand.
So first there are all cars without year, sorted by brand.
Then the 1886 cars, then the 1893 cars, etc.
On last page you find all 2007 cars, sorted by brand.
