Hi all, i've been trying to name this film for ages. i first saw it on the TV in the late 80's.
The plot as far as i remember: a local sheriff's department somewhere inland either south and hot like texas or hilly (montanna?)is run by the father and has a daughter who is a deputy. I know that at this point there is something like a Ford bronco/chevy blazer in police colours (paint lights etc). They hear that someone in the family (brother i think) had been killed/kidnapped in beverly hills.

So, the daughter sets off to find out whats going on. When there she's looking for a hire car and comments that she like american cars. But they come across a Porsche 911 Cabrio in red. She likes it and says she is happy with a stick shift. The guy she's with picks up on her only liking american cars and she's like well yeh, but this is cool.

Anyway she says she's never seen the ocean, so they go to the beach in their 911. Whilst on the beach a baddy's car turn up and starts ramming the porsche as they drive along the beach.

The porsche is totally ruined but still drives. i can't remember how they got rid of the baddies.

I really want to remember what the film was called as i remember having a toy 911 cabrio which i used to imagine was on a beach escaping villains.

Do you remember who starred in the movie, or from what years the movie is approximately?

I'd say it's about 1987. all i recall about the actors is the main character was a blonde woman about thrity years old, not amazing good looking but good anyway, not particularly tall.

IT wasn't a great film. I'm sure it wasn't a tv movie.
