http://www.lkw-infos.eu/lkw-ddr-1.htm
http://www.lkw-infos.eu/lkw-ddr-2.htm

it belongs to that page about trucks in europe: http://www.lkw-infos.eu/index.htm

Yesterday evening I saw a reportage about the actual situation in Belgium.

They they'd said, that in Belgium there is no law, this allows fire engines in emergency operation to pass the red traffic lights.

Recently the authorities have mounted a lot of red-light-cameras. Every time, when a fire engine was shot at a red light, the fire brigade got a charge from the police - and that the drivers of the fire-trucks have to pay the punishment from their private money!!!

Indeed. That was discussed already few months ago, I do not know if it was solved or not eventually.
That's a typical Belgian situation

Does anyone from America know if the Nissan X-Trail is sold here? Not officially I mean, but I have see them, and it drives me crazy when I don't kow something like that for sure. Perhaps they made their way down from Canada?

Never sold in America as far as I know, but was available in Canada were it was eventually
replaced by the Nissan Rogue. America also now has the Rogue. The first time I saw an X-Trial was my first trip to the Bahamas.

Yesterday I followed a truck, which had loaded 3 cars, which obviously had recently imported from the USA. A 1965 Mustang and a Plymouth (Model?), by its style from around 1956/57 had looked, if they were "destert-imports", the typical matt and sandblasted painting like cars in Arizona or New Mexico had.

I drove very close to the truck, because I wanted to read the plate-holder-frame of the last car, a white, quite new- Ford F 250-van, loaded with several boxes. The plastic-frame was from "Gardena Oldsmobile Plaza", the dealer-"plate" inside the frame was from the company "Galpin Ford".

Oh, google helps: http://www.galpinford.com/pages/page.cfm?pageid=96062&pagetype=30&featureid=-1

And today I had a Morris Minor Traveller in really perfect restored condition in front of me. Surely a car from the UK or Commonwealth, because it was RHD and last, but not least, during his "actual life-time" the Morris minor was unkown in Germany.

I was driving yesterday with a few friends on a country road and a 1969 Mach 1 drove by. One of my friends that doesn't care about cars was talking about how beautiful it was. It's always the people in the back country (at least where I live) that have the old muscle cars, because they are the only ones that can maintain them. It's interesting how a lot of protagonists in movies that dress more refined, don't listen to country, and are basically opposite of that spectrum have shiny 60s vehicles that in real life would never happen. Whoever decides which cars are in movies realizes that late 60s muscle cars (in general) are some of the most aesthetically pleasing and adventurous looking vehicles; So they give them to the protagonists, with no explanation to how they could possibly have one. Well, that's movies!

I was surprised to see this parked near my friend's house the other day. It's dressed up exactly like the Trueno from Initial D. I had to get my friend to stop so I could take a few pics.

When I left on Tuesday my office for lunch, I had the real "wow" -effect (the other colleagues, too). Directly in front of the door stands it, "my car" (hopefully sometimes I can have one.. , that one in light blue metallic: http://imcdb.org/vehicle_219-Mercedes-Benz-600-W100-1965.html

This afternoon I saw a new Cadillac STS, not older than 3 weeks (to identify by the TÜV-sticker on the plate)

Today i definitely saw a couple of interesting cars that you hardly ever see in Oz let alone in my state of Western Australia.
On the way to work i saw a really nice 3rd Generation Pontiac Firebird Trans AM. And even more interesting it was in RHD.
Then on the way home i saw a huge GMC SUV, i have no idea which one, but compared to the stuff we usually get in oz it was MASSIVE.

Our local Ford-Dealer
http://www.autohaus-boewing.de/
has put an advertise in the local newspaper for the new offer "Since now you can order American Ford-cars, too!"
The ad was decorated with an orange 2009 Mustang. It took 40 years after the founding of this dealership, that you could buy US-Fords.
As I've heard, that, if you want to buy an US-Ford here in Germany, you had to order them at a few very big dealers in bigger towns.

Similar to the Opel-dealers, when you want to get an American GM-car. The biggest dealers are having logos of the US-brands on their houses or homepages, but usually no US-cars in their showroom. An old-school-friend, who is a salesman there:
http://www.duerkop.de/index.php?id=102
has told me, that US-cars are obstructing the showroom. One Cadillac stood 4 years, until they could sell it.

These are some of the ones coming to the US right? If so they are to be built at the Wayne Michigan Truck Plant, which use to build the Expedition. The last Expedition to roll off Wayne’s assembly line was a Sangria Red Metallic Clearcoat 2009 Ford Expedition XLT. The plant employees bid it farewell as it rolled out the factory doors.

http://www.themustangnews.com/fomoco_08/1108-ford-wayne-plant-closes-412.htm

The plant is not being closed for good, but rather, its being retooled to build the new European Ford Focus chassis. So no employees should loose their jobs. Which is very good news.

The Fiesta is going to be sold there yes, but nothing was said about the Ka, so i don't know what's doing there, perhaps trying to call people's attention with it, just in case they like it
