When I began to use Photobucket, more than a decade ago, I think there was just an ad banner per page, like on here. And when I began using an ad-blocker, many years later, I forgot about it.

Until a few weeks ago, when Photobucket "noticed I was using an ad-blocker, please white-list us", etc. All right, it's fair game. Then all hell broke loose.

A banner on top of the page. Two square ads on the right. Auto-play video ads - with sound on max level by default, of course. And then a vertical banner comes from the left, moving the whole page to the right, and sometimes messing up with the page layout. And if I go to another tab on Firefox, when I come back to the Photobucket tab, now comes another layer, covering the whole page with crappy click-bait ads, and a CONTINUE TO WEBSITE link.

I'm all right with a well-behaved single ad banner per page, but this is just horrible. The whole site now looks dubious, untrustworthy. And now they want 400 dollars a year to get rid of this ad infestation and still be allowed to link my photos ? I'm sorry but it's way too much, way too late.

This latest move by Photobucket looks like a poorly planned, last ditch attempt to move the company onto the black. I don't think many casual users will pony up 400 dollars a year, and I wonder if the company will still be there next year. If the billions of hosted photos get wiped off, there will be a lot of problems on forums, including IMCDb (some comment photos are still hosted on PB).

Again, apologies for the off-topicness, but the situation is rather worrying.

Indeed such ads are terrible, and that's because of people abusing with such crappy ads that so many people block all ads :ohwell:

Most of the comment pics from Photobucket were recently imported to IMCDb's server, cf http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=2477#Comment2158432

As a non-subscriber of Photobucket, that's pretty much been my whole experience with the site. A lot of eBay sellers like to us it to add extra pics to their auctions, so it was always a pain to look at. Now they're all stuck too.

American muscle and British luxury standing side by side, waiting for a new owner

i think the Trans Am is 1978 ( old car brochures says the only 1977 T-Top ones were Special Edition, which i believe were black ) but i have no idea about the Rolls-Royce

A Chevrolet Bolt EV with Citroën badges... just badges changed by the owner? Or some test made by GM or by Citroën?

Carfax gives it as a Chevy... but strange.. maybe the owner just couldn't believe it was a Chevy design...

is there a Citroen that looks similar to the Bolt ? . maybe the owner just changed the badge to fool people..

Probably just to fool people, as there is no link (visual or technological) between that car and Citroën as far as I know (except the fact that PSA bought Opel). Here it is sold as Opel Ampera-e.

like some said in that forum.. could Citroen be tempted by their own version since they now own Opel ?
( but as another one said, if it was a Citroen concept, it would be in camouflage mode )

But there is also that saying that goes like this : the best way to hide something is to leave it in plain sight...

still belive in a funny guy who got some Citroen badges for Xmas ( or his birthday ) and found a way to use them..

Just saw this 1973 Datsun 1200 at my library. Surprised it has been this well maintained, not fond of the color though.

Unknown mule based on an Opel Zafira (Combo?)

https://abload.de/img/2018zafiran3uke.jpg

Update on this: German car magazine Auto Bild told me that its a Muletto based on the Zafira. They said they have their own pictures of it but they haven't released any pictures of that car yet. So i guess they are still trying to figure out what it is.

Combo = Can be ruled out, will share its base with Peugeot Bipper)
Bigger Van / SUV (BMW X7 Opponent) = The Mule didn't look bigger
next Opel Zafira = maybe

"Muletto" is what we call if the prototype has the visual appearance of an existing model, but something is odd: Bigger fenders, longer wheelbase or more ride height for example.

It all started with a useless run to to grocery store ( i didn't got what i wanted ) but it was worth the drive !

1998-2000 Alfa Romeo Spider ( according to wikipedia )
My 2nd one ( still according to wikipedia, the other one was 1995-1997 )

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4304/35774924692_9170b499dc_b.jpg

Unlike the 1st one, i had a chance to get the front too. when i parked i also saw that unknown green little thing... which turns out to be a Siata Spring 850 ( wiki gives 1968 as first year , here its 1967 ) . I never saw one in my life ... just sad i couldn't get a rear shot ...
