You may have noticed that since few weeks the site makes a request to google-analytics server at the end of each page (well, you see it only if you check messages in statusbar).
I registered the site there to have some more reliable stats than what I add through the logs of the server, since that one was counting thumbnails as pages because they are provided through a php page.
Now these stats are for pages only, so real visits on the site.

Anyway, here are few figures for April:
avg 8300 visits/day (259 000 visits)
136 276 unique visitors
2 300 000 page views

browsers:
IE = 63%
Firefox = 30%
Safari = 4%

incoming traffic:
13,83% direct (i.e. bookmarks or typed url)
23,68% referring sites
62,48% search engines

Ufff, NC is the twelfth state in U.S. with total visits (!) I knew putting a computer in every room of the house was a bad idea, I’m addicted now ...

:lol: It would be interesting to compare these numbers with the number of people living in these states.
e.g. I suppose that Delaware is rather small, and I am not surprised that California is at the top of the list

Google Analytics gives that info.
The IP addresses (which each machine connected to internet has) are usually linked to a country or even a region, but this is not very reliable.
For example, with my IP address the info that I am in Belgium is sure, but I only get sometimes Brussels (where I am), in lots of cases it gives me either the region of my ISP or just another Belgian city.
I suppose that in USA the split in states is quite reliable (could be compared to EU-countries), as Google offers that additional level (in other countries they directly give city info rather than a subdivision of the country).

It looks like the US states list is in about the same order as in a state population list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_population

By the way, I am surprised US is the top percent of visitors seeing as though the site started in Europe (France or Belgium if I'm not mistaken?)

Site was started in French language, but it is internet, so the _where_ it is is not important (it is still on a server in France actually).
As the English translation was added before it really started to grow, it did not live so much as a "French site".

How'd you manage to tell that the average number of cars per movie was 15? Just interested in how specific this site's administration is :smile:

:confused: that's rather about contents stats than visit stats (another topic), but 199485 vehicles in 13386 movies gives an average of 14,9 cars per movie (which is rounded to have an integer number of cars :p)

12,000 visits per day! That's HUGE.

Have you considered that Paypal graph that gradually shows the percentage of hosting costs covered? You may get more out of anonymous contributions than those Google ads.

Google Ags earn about 6 times what the hosting costs for the moment, so it is not much a problem... Even when the site will require a dedicated server the costs should be still fulfilled.
So contributions are really not needed, at least now :wink:
What is more needed is help for processing picture contributions from the forum :grin: (as I do not have the time to do that myself)

I'm willing to help when I don't have school work-my new IT class will help.

P.S. How long does it take to add a movie from the forum, and what steps a required. Just wondering how hard you, and the other admins work! :smile: :thumbs:

I'd love to help,i have a lot of time on my hands and get easily bored. I visit this site forum and main every day. I'd appreciate being able to help all you mods out, cos it does seem in the very past, one or two things were added a day, nowadays its probably only a couple a week, and then its' always new stuff, while the older stuff keeps getting sent to the back and waits for month.
So count me in if that's possible. Also that way i wouldnt have to clog up the forum in the first place with my larger tv series submissions. And the same for other people who make larger submissions.

Well it is the help from admins which is needed, not help from non-admins :grin:
Though that resizing pics which are not in right format could help, as usually it is these contributions which take most of the time.

Ah ok, well ill continue to help with that part then.
Although judging by the number of things added each week against the amount that gets put in the forum each week, id say alot of the admins are in the same boat as you with not much time to spend adding pics to the site. So you cant deny that maybe giving one or two more people the ability to add pictures to the site is not such a bad idea. More admins = means more help, which means more work can be done and a less cluttered forum.
