(My first comment!)

I highly recommend visiting the Bil Museum in Lolland/Denmark.

In the backlot are a lot of abandoned 50-70s cars. Here I spotted:

Renault 8

Morgan

VW 1200

Chevrolet Bel Air

Morris Marina.

And at Will Rogers' mansion you can still find his abandoned Buick.

The village, where I'd visited the farmer's market today, is generally proper, clean and wealthy (debtless since over 20 years, an extreme rarity in Germany), but among all the proper, clean and wealthy properties, this sight was very noticeable (house and garden are in a similar condition:

This car is standing on the main road. Sooner or later it may be remoted, because the TÜV-inspection is invalid since two months. This costs money, if the police or the municipality will notice that.

I cannot find the thread about closed and forgotten dealerships :ohwell:

This is in Austria, close to the Czech border:

closed down around 1989

An abandoned Rounded-Line1980 Chevrolet Suburban Silverado (C-10) with conversion for ambulance duty. Has dual General Electric (GE) search lights and high rise roof, among other ambulance additions.

Found near Vlaams-Brabant Belgium. Seems the person or party who owns it, is adamant it’s not for sale. Sad that the owner(s) would let it fall into disarray, instead of selling it to someone that could restore it to its former glory.

Some of its polished stainless-steel beauty trim is missing/removed, and is in desperate need of machine or hand re-polishing. Would need some bodywork, and so on...

http://thumbnails106.imagebam.com/29016/dbbb7d290153538.jpg

Its powerteam (as Chevrolet called it) would be a 5.7 Liter 16-vavle 350 cubic inch pushrod V-8 and 3-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission.

It was available with an intelligent rear differential lock. The mechanical internal control unit monitored rear-wheel slip (spin) and vehicle speed to determine when to lock or unlock the differential. In theory, it could remain in working state, untouched or immobile almost indefinitely. Ready to lock for wheel slip that will never happen.

Hopefully this Amazon-Volvo

-pic no.8, I cannot be fixed directly: http://www1.wdr.de/themen/panorama/unserdorfziehtum230.html

will be picked up, before it's too late. This village, a art of the Michael Schumacher-hometown, will be soon demolished completely, for the soft coal opencast mining.

@Antoine: :hello:

What would be the best way to upload a few more pics? So around 1000...

My fellow Martin ( http://icmesa.com/tinhunter/ ) has sent me a photo-CD with hundreds of pics from the legendary old yard of Carlo Vanlingen http://www.carlovanlingen.be/ He found the time to digitalise them.
(hey, there's annother towing company with this name: http://vanlingen.com/  )

The CD also includes some dozens photos from this Austrian wrecker http://kogler.biz/OldtimerErsatzteileWels.htm and from a junkyard nearby Wolfsburg, which doesn't exist any more since over 15 years.

If anyone is interested, I can send you a copy of this CD in a letter.

You can make photo albums with sites like Flickr and others, I guess these allow to upload easily a bunch of photos rather than doing it one by one.
That would also be more practical to have a link to a gallery than posting pics individually somewhere.

Philadelphia, near the city center (a rather expensive space for long-term car storage)
