I started to rename the cars - till 1991 it was XJ-S and after facelift just XJS - they were all listed as XJS.

I am not sure it is useful to make the difference. For spaces, "-" and other it is quite variable depending on the sources. Well, if you want you can do it, but do not expect me or most of the admins to be able to see the difference between a XJ-S and a XJS

no problem I did the changes - difference is pretty obvious - XJ-S is the older one (1975-1991) old style rear lights, rear window with corners, black bumpers)
XJS is the new one (1991-1996) bumpers in body color, rounded rear window, different taillights)

I would like to remind all admins to read this before making major changes in XJ-S/XJS section today I found out that someone changed almost all XJS to XJ-S - some also incorrectly...

it don't matter to me long as it's an xjs im ok but electrical problem are terrible they make your xjs catch on fire! like the speedo is know for electrical problems what causes your xjs to get
