Cannonball Run II Movie Car

The feature car in the movie is the Black '83 Mitsubishi Starion. I see it listed in the "Mitsubishi" section, but it does not reflect the 5 stars as it is certainly used a lot by the stars, and is actually the feature car.
Anyway, I own the car now (the still shot car, 1 of 4 used in the movie), as it had quite a history, and I restored it enough to drive it now, but it still needs some work.

I would believe that it should get 4 stars like the other main cars of the movie, though I have not see that movie recently and so I do not remember it very well, but I am not sure for 5 stars, as the car is not really a "character" in the movie like for Christine, Herbie, etc. and not really a well-known car like some other "movie cars".
But it is a nice car anyway

Ahhh, yes. I see your point about "character". From what I see, the 5 stars is for cars that are "part of the movie".
No big deal really. I just wanted to log on the site that the car is still in circulation so to speak.
It is also noteworthy to say the car was the catalyst for the Japanese car craze as we know it today. I know, I sound full of myself, but there was no, good, Japanese performance car before this one. The market exploded directly AFTER the CBRII movie, and never dropped off since.
Also, there are few movie cars (if any) that are still in circulation, that people actually know the car. I travel to Japan, Taiwan, Europe, etc... Men everywhere are car enthusiasts, so the topic always comes up without my starting it! Then I mention that I own the car, and they all remember it, as it played a large role in the movie, and the most famous movie star in the world, rode in it. Jackie Chan of course!
I just think it is neat that everyone seems to know the car, and remember it very well in the movie.

Well, depends of what you call "part of the movie" actually. I used that name "part of the movie" in the legend because I thought it described these "character" cars.

Have you read the story about the Starion name being a mistake?
