Should we keep it or remove that new feature?

At first I thought it was a good idea but now I'm not so sure. In many cases where the production company and/or funding comes from is of no real interest to us imo. I mean as car people. Maybe I'm in the minority on this but it would be more interesting if we could have the filming location (when positively determined). I understand this would perhaps create wrong entries and some confusion but it would be a topic for discussion anyway.

It is easy to remove if we don't want it. I'm waiting one or two days before removing it, to be sure that there aren't many that want to keep it (currently votes are clear )

The only reason why I added it is because it was very easy to add with the new way titles are stored (it is using the same field as the country of alternative titles), so I thought it was just a bonus.

Indeed for some movies it is complicated, but so are the vehicle model origin

Not useful, especially when it's an international co-production.

As I said on the other thread, I like it, but would keep it optional to add.

The single country flag is troublesome in international co-productions.
However, helps choose MUCH faster & (mostly) correct 'Made for' vehicles tags.
It answers the usual question at first glance - USA or Canada?

But a lot of US movies/TV shows are filmed in Canada

US movies are shot all over the place nowadays. From Canada to New Zealand and even Greece or an Estonian highway. All taking place in US supposedly. Why I talked about an actual location flag.

Maybe I could remove that one for now (though that the votes start being more tied) and add later a similar one but with also a "filmed in" list of countries, but that's more work to fill it of course.

The flag gives faster answers to (quite many) doubts about USSR/Russian vs Bulgarian, Polish vs Czechoslovakian also.

Always we can add the extra info about unusual (other countries) locations in comment section.

I agree with that. I thought of that years ago. This would be, indeed, an improvement. I voted for.

Yes, the "filmed in" is planned to be added at some point, but that would require multiple flags then.
To make that easy to select, I should first improve the admin pages to use something more modern.

If we talk about improvements: is it possible to install a feature which allows you to see more of the last completed movies?

I mean let's say I don't watch the site for a while and I miss several movies. But more than those which can be seen on the last completed movies list. What can I do?

It would be ideal if the movies list would be organized in a "See all comments" format: page 1, 2, 3... until the very first movie added on IMCDb.

This was added long time ago, back then that list contained a two or three weeks worth of movies I guess
Now it is the last 100, I'll change it to 200
We'll have to wait for new movies to be added to the list: there is no more history stored than what is displayed.
So I can't really provide a complete list of that.

However there is an alternative, if you want to see the movies where contributions from a new user were last added, you can use this link:

(found via Search -> List of all movies -> change sort order to Date added)
It is not fully reliable since at the end there are all the movies without users listed as contributor.
I could probably make something more reliable by sorting by highest vehicle ID of each movie, I'll put it on my to-do list.

Also, the transliterated title is that just for russian, chinese, japanese, etc languages or should we be using it for German, Italian, French etc movies where the English title is widely known?

We can update older titles with their original title, I do it from time to time when I encounter older titles. I'm not sure it is very useful to update entries just to add the flag, but as it seems that more people are for it rather than against it I suppose we can add it as well.

Transliterated title is the original one written in latin characters, so I'm not sure what you mean for German/Italian/French, etc. I suppose you rather mean International title then?
If so, in some cases it can be used for these titles also if the movie is more known abroad with that title. If IMDb mentions an English title as "Worldwide", or if the English title is used in most of the countries.

That makes perfect sense now.

Will you be adding a feature for us to search by movies with flags? This might help for possibly when new plate searches arise if we have movies with say a Portuguese flag or a Maltese flag?

Also, are you possibly going to allow us to add multiple origin flags when there are more than one country that IMDb says the origin is?

Multiple flags is not planned for now, here I just re-used the field that existed for the title. In some cases it would indeed better reflect the movie's origin, but on the other hand it is not so important for us I think.
I could add an option for that in the search. For these a "filmed in" flag would be more interesting, that' something to add later.
