but the main reason is that the Impala is a REAR WHEEL DRIVE car.

 as is the Crown Victoria, isn't it?

Yes, my mistake. You'll have to forgive me, I haven't had a chance to get much sleep this past week. I edited my original comment.

Actually I did not know that Impala was FWD, else I would have guessed the error

Pretty much everything is FWD these days. The only cars I can think of that aren't are the Charger/300 and the CV/Grand Marquis. Plus the new G8, but that's really a Holden so I wouldn't count that one.

the G8 is awsome, (mind you I love the Commodore, even though it's not my favourite car)

I like the Caprice much better than the Commodore. I know it's just a stretcted wheelbase version of the Commodore, but I think the styling is much better looking. And it's really big, and I just love big cars! Plus, how could you not like a car named Caprice :sol:

And as for the G8... :puke:

Site with heaps of pictures showing the variety of cars used in Australia. Mostly Holden Commodores and Rodeos and Ford Falcons, but there are some unusual cars as well. A great site for Aussie Police Cars http://www.inthejob.com/ By the way next generationm of Holden Rodeos will be calledd Colorados, as for some reason Isuzu have decided to market the Rodeo themselves and have told Holden they can no longer use the name, so Holden will get a rebadged version. It will be interesting to see how many Holdens sell against how many Rodeos. I think they will split their market, rather than attract new buyers, just like Holden did when they introduced the Crewman which is now no longer produced

When I made my traveling across the USA in 1993, I remember a place in Houston/Texas, where several dozens of destroyed police-cars (mostly crashed, some burned) were standing.
I cannot remember the exact location, but it was close to downtown, in a rougher area, under a highway-bridge. I've passed the (gated) area on the seach for a junk-yard for European cars.
