Nice haul.
I've not seen much lately what with being stuck working from home but I keep seeing: http://imcdb.org/vehicle_101356-Secma-Fun-Tech.html I'm sure I've mentioned it before on this thread but I have seen it the last few days in numerous places round where I live.

I know it's probably not rare or interesting but today I saw one of these monstrocities for the first time
[/URL]
also saw an Isuzu Vehicross today, not really that rare but you don't see them everyday (sorry the picture isn't so great I was driving about 70 mph
)

I think the R-Class is reasonably attractive.
A few months ago I saw one with Texas "Farm Truck" license plates, which gets you half off the annual registration fee but is only supposed to be used for transporting farm goods/supplies/family essentials (see http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/cve/Farm.htm). It was spotless and parked at a bookstore. Their farm must be doing pretty well

t0nkatracker, did you use something like this to take these pictures?
I've considered it, but it only seems to accept a 4G SD card.

The RHD Cherokee might have been a "postal Jeep" - right hand drive allows the driver to reach a mailbox at the side of the road without getting out.

Parking Garages
I'm glad nothing was parked right next to it
A Rambler my friend found in Seattle on the University of Washington campus
I like the color it's similar to my bike which is turquoise but with more green than blue

no it wasn't a postal jeep as it was EU-Spec (It had fender mounted repeaters and rear fog lights) the postal Jeeps sold here were US-Spec but had RHD.

Today I saw something for tonkatracker, an older Suzuki in perfect condition, but in real use, towing a trailer with renovation-goods. To identify easily by its plate: WES-LJ 80
Annother question: does anyone knows details about these "Camel Trophy"-Range Rovers from the 70ies and 80ies? Had they some specific features?
There is such a car somewhere in my village. I saw it several times, but until now I couldn't catch the owner to ask for details.

Camel Trophy events didn’t start using Land Rovers unit about 1981 or so. The first Range Rovers used were the two-door versions, which were used for about two years, after that they started using only four-door versions.
Genuine Camel Trophy Range Rovers are rare, most are recreations or replicas, as most vehicles were crushed after the off road events. Only a few manage to escape crushing and pop-up every now and then.
The Range Rovers themselves were off-the-shelf standard, with added aftermarket off road gear. Such as off road tires, winches, lights, brush guards, and so on. Later models were fitted with an aftermarket engine snorkel.
They all had full-time four-wheel drive with two-speed dual range transfer case and center differential lock. Front and rear axles were standard live axles with conventional open differentials and full floating hubs.
Rear-wheel electronic traction control would not be added unit the 1993 model year.
Land Rover switched to a BorgWarner two-speed dual range transfer case with viscous center differential lock for 1989.

Thanks for the infos. I really must try to catch the owner sooner or later. It is a two-door-version. When the oldest, as you say, are from 1981, it's indeed a question, if this specific one is an original, as it has a "H"-plate, a historic registration, which you -regularly- can get after 30 years.
The vehicle has to be original for that, but conversions in the old style, with parts and features, which were existing in that time, are accepted, too.
So for example a 1977 Bugatti-Replica on a VW-chassis is o.k.

Those are a group of Land-Rover Series III
They had either I-4 (gas), I-4 (diesel), or I-6 (gas) engines mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox and two-speed dual range transfer case.
The 4x4 system was part-time four-wheel drive with automatic coupling of the front and rear prop shafts. The front and rear axle differentials were conventional open type.
Front axle hubs were permanent, and thus the front differential and prop shaft would still move (driven by the wheels, not by engine torque) even when the 4x4 system was in two-wheel drive high range.
Manual locking front hubs can be installed via aftermarket for "freewheeling" in two-wheel drive high range.

I saw something very strange today. Didn't have my camera
It was a MINI Cooper S with US style sidemarkers. But it was Right Hand Drive.
Registration was YH59____ which was a sequence used by BMW/MINI UK on their fleet vehicles.

Since I often barge into the Spring Hill Car Show, and take pictures and videos of the cars and trucks there, I often see something unusual. Since I had no plans to buy this 1975 Toyota Celica which I saw on May 12, 2011, I promised the owner I would show it off on the web. So here it is.
