This Toyota I've noticed this morning at first from the oncoming direction and have thought "Nice motif for my plate-fellows", because it still has the old-style plates (pre 10/2000), here it seems even its first one.
But on the way back I saw "Oops, that's it for plate and car"

When I parked in front of our drugstore, I had this view on the left:

In my company there's a girl with an Italian name. The computer system shows that abbrevation:

Spotted a http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=64280 in SE trim and with Berlin (where else would it be registered? ) plates on the way home. It also had a red stoplight on the left side of the trunk, I guess to comply with European laws?

if it is an extra light only on one side, it is rather a foglight.
These are mandatory in Belgium, I do not know for other EU countries

Not unusual to North American readers but very unusual in Europe, a Dodge Ram/Ram 1500:

http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb428/JohnSandie/Photo601_zpszlmgkuvd.jpg

In Belgium, they're not that unusual anymore. Rams and Fords, mostly black, white or silver, sometimes metallic red. Usually range-topping crew cab versions with lots of chrome bits. Always grey-imported by a few local companies.

They have a certain clientele : tattoo parlour owners, gym club owners, americana shop owners, you know the type.

I even saw two recent Rams in the same Brussels boulevard, not far from the adult stores seen here in this TV-movie : http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=817612

I managed to frame both Rams in a single photo. Maybe I should post it.

And after typing this, what do I see outside during my lunch break ? Another Ram crew cab ! This time a two-tone black & silver one.

A few snaphots from my village.

The Lincoln Continental I've seen a few times, I think the owner lives somewhere in the neighbour hood.

The Mercury Cougar was parked in a former Bundeswehr-storage house. Since many years (20-25 I think), these building were used by several companies - and as it seems, as garages for classic cars, too.

About the property with the BMW-scrap I'm not sure if it's a hobby- or semi-legal garage. An official garage it's not AFAIK.

That is a Belarusian plate, not a Bulgarian one.

Really, really, really hate winter ( i should :chut: before saying inappropriate things about that season.. ) but it does brings some funny wheels combinations like this one , that tries to 'Escape ' being a Ford by wearing Jeep wheels.....
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1632/24874445243_fc5bb35d65_h.jpg

Saw my first ever Suzuki Equator few days ago but no pics as i just didn't realized it was one until it went off and i saw the " S " on the tailgate

Also saw a burned 2005-2007 Subaru Outback ( no collision traces, firefighters had extinguished the fire when i was passing but engine bay was still smoking...no pics because red light was too far away and police presence...

Also saw this NovaBus VS 18-Wheeler crash while going to work . When i passed ( i was going in the opposite direction ) both vehicles were separated but no pics once again as i was not having my camera ( anyway, there was police and my light was green so i wouldn't take one even if i had it... )
Click only if you really want to see, was really bad for the bus driver and his vehicle...

Three snapshots from my trip yesterday to the top secret Opel Test Range (the general meeting of the German classic car clubs-umbrella organisation was hold there). On the range -photographing is of course strctly forbidden- I couldn't spot something extraordinary, just a prototype of the new Corsa)

I thought "WTF, that's a name for a vehicle?" - but it is indeed. Never saw one before.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/922/BKZoNO.jpg

Here I was wondering, how the owner could pass the German TÜV-inspection. I's a mid-80ies Renault 5 phase2 - with the original French yellow headlights. Normally they are strictly forbidden over here.
The owner is obviously very francophile: the R5 had still the "F"-sticker on the back - and the grille was coloured as the Tricolore

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/924/AaqC80.jpg

Sorry for the bad pic -it's the best of the dozen, I tried to make-, but it was dark and heavy raining.

When it changed the lane in front of me, I was very irritated about the red-flashing indicator lights and the red sidemarkers, because I've already identified it as an Opel Astra H, so nothing US-origin.

Then I could identify it as an Saturn Astra with such plates:

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kfz-Kennzeichen_der_kanadischen_Streitkr%C3%A4fte_in_Deutschland#/media/File:POMV-Plate-CDN-SC-888.JPG

(for private cars of Canadian servicemen in Germany).

Barbarian is special edition on L-200 Double Cab - http://www.gallaghers-cars.co.uk/l200/l200-double-cab-barbarian.html#dcbarbarian4series . Slightly surprising title - has unfavourable undertones of Yobbo or Chav in current usage - but they were originally Barbars/Berbers - an ancient tribe from N Africa and one of many who attacked Roman Empire. Another similar example of how an original name has become something insulting because they were an enemy of Rome is the Vandals tribes from what is now Poland.

Well, that's not totally correct, it's the second meaning from the Middle Age. The origin is from the Greek:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbarian

Hmm, so it seems, that it's not correct, what I've heard about the origin a long time ago: that it came from the Romans, and it was meant for uncivilized blokes, who wears beards (mainly for the German tribes on the other side of the Rhine and the Limes.

Here a few snapshots from a short tourist-trip to Istanbul, my wife and me have made in the last days.

A fascinating town with uncountable many sights - but about cars it's really boring. Since the German TÜV-inspection was introduced some years ago, all older vehicles disappeared. Many vehicles were made in Turkey, but it's all the modern stuff as Renault Symbol and so on.

This Dodge was the only of this older TR-unique stuff. There are still several TR-made R12 and Tofas Sahin on the road, but of the chrome-bumpered originals I've spotted not even a handful. Nothing Anadol-ish at all.

Some Tofas Sahin were pimped in boy-racer-style, so there seems to be a fan-scene for them.
The only classic cars on the streets of Istanbul were a half-dozen of VW 1302 and 1303, due their condition clearly in the hands of enthusiasts.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/923/ulY87V.jpg

Pure handmade phantasy  Later I've seen, that this BMW has besides a 2013-sticker for the Austrian motorway also the green sticker for the emission-zones in Germany (where the number is remarked on), but I was reluctant to creep around (not a too good idea in not a too good quarter of Istanbul)

Spotted a US-spec Golf III in front of our house - I was only able to tell so by the extremely narrow bracket with the tiny plate, as well as the huge label-less trunk.

BTW ingo, were you still in Istanbul when that bomb exploded yesterday?

When that happened, we were just back home. But the bomb was in Ankara, not in Istanbul.

It was very obvious, that the tourism was declined, especially Germans avoid Istzanbul right now. But we don't bother that fear -better let's say hysteria :kiki:
We never did that.
