It's a 73+ Mk2 for the starfish alloys, at first optional but standardised from Jan 76 along with brushed aluminium sill covers. But US Stags discontinued at end of 73/start 74 before the 74+ big bumper rules, and this sill looks painted - perhaps with anti-rust paint. So I'd guess a final-year-in-US example which has seen better days.

The weather was pretty crappy today and I was hung over from partying yesterday, so seeing this put a smile on my face:
I think this is the first one I've seen in person.

Nice, not very common indeed.
It is good that it is written on the rear the make, otherwise I could not have guessed

Has first style smaller bumpers, and I think an early S2 (Aug 73+) for black paint in headlight sockets). Bigger bumpers came in 74 for US and then UK/Europe, but no precise change-over date found - may be Nov 74 revamp with 5-spd box, better brakes and full wood dash. Most S2 (and some S1) had a side strip, but again unclear when this happened and why some don't have it; all big-bumpers seem to have it.

It's truly a nice surprise to see one randomly parked where you don't expect it but I hope the owner doesn't make a habit of it using this classic car in conditions like these...

I was thinking the same thing .. i don't know the car but its too nice for snowflakes..
speaking of rare birds that can't escape winter , i saw a 2002-2003 Civic SiR today . No need to say that this thing popped up while i was driving , like about all other interesting ones do..

On the other hand, cars are made to be driven
You can't put all of them in museums

I finally managed to grab a picture of a local Triumph Stag. Unfortunately, it's at a mechanic shop on a busy road and my windshield was really dirty, but I was able to slow down enough to snap a pic:

How have I never seen one as a hardtop fastback?? It looks like the roof was grafted on!
And in a car that has a "V8" consisting of 2 V4s molded together, that's not so far fetched...

Nice, we will not receive the Ora due to Great Wall Motors' supposed ties to the Putinist regime. And BYD probably would have kicked its a$$ anyway.
Today, I was walking and I saw this thing:
My first reaction was... oh, what is that? A Kia with a bodykit? No, no - I got it: a rebadged Ford Puma! And then I saw the pitchfork. And to think people poked fun at the Biturbo back in the day....

It looks infinitely better as a Maserati than as a Ford.

Not a car but very special. I saw this on my way home today, it's a Galion Roll-O-Matic 3-axle road roller. I didn't even think any 3-axle rollers still existed, I've never even seen a picture of a real one.

Indeed, I don't recall having seen something like that, even in picture

Let's ask the plate number.

Seen on the road on the commute home: a facelift US spec VW Eos and most importantly - for the first time in the metal - a Tata Safari with an Italian plate.
