Yes. Good fun discussing imcdb and some of its members and what goes on - swapping experiences was a useful perspective on things we've come across separately and found difficult/odd etc. And agreed we might well do it again for the next convenient event - so ingo if you're thinking Scotland this year, let us know - we might have a Marmite meet.

Let's see. We still have no travelling plans, but it's likely. After the small concert of http://www.reidvansante.com/ yesterday, my wife has decided, that the next SCO-trip is urgently needed.
P.S. Maybe you can contribute a similar pic, as antp and sixcyl once had from their rowdy party
I cannot find it again, but chicomarx has kept it IIRC.

No photos of ourselves (that should be left to your imagination ). I must reiterate what dsl has said. It was a nice day out and we had a chance to chat and see some nice cars.
Looking at Chico's picture Antp looks young there. Sixcyl (I've never seen a picture of him before) looks exactly how I'd expect him to.

We even have an own thread for such pics http://forum.imcdb.org/index.ks?page=forum_topic&id=4078&index=0 but it's sleeping since years.
It's good, that some threads are in the sleep mode http://forum.imcdb.org/index.ks?page=forum_topic&id=3812&index=0

Looking at Chico's picture Antp looks young there.
It was at least seven years ago I think.
The guy took so many time for taking the picture that I ended up with that face

Belated entry from the Glasgow Monte start for Lateef - neither Sandie or I got a pic so they're someone else's - http://www.flickr.com/photos/gee01/8422018404/ , http://www.flickr.com/photos/markyharky/8428133816/in/photostream . Had a note on it claiming it was 1 of only 173 sold in UK. The rest of those sets are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/gee01/8422018404/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/markyharky/sets/72157632633449052/with/8428133816/ if anyone's interested.

Sorry, I've seen at home, that the quality is bad.
"Price on request", for both:
For this, too:
Odd somehow: the first pic here
I've made one hour AFTER
when it was covered with a tape, with written "SORRY, SOLD" (in the same handwritung)

Nice Lagonda. We don't have Escort VVX 958L on imcdb, but do have other works team cars in same livery from 71 and 72 RAC - http://imcdb.org/vehicle_238892-Ford-Escort-RS-1600-1971.html , http://imcdb.org/vehicle_238889-Ford-Escort-RS-1600-1971.html . The 504 V6 coupe with 363RF25 plates and #4 was 1978 Safari Rally winner for Nicholas, although the original lighting has been changed (no scuttle spotlights now, and different front positioning with split bumper).

The UK-VW-dealers for dsl:
On a MY 1972-brochure:
Caused by dsl's provocation I've found that right now in a LS-brochure from 8.73:
This was the ultimative shock, when I've discovered that (8 years after purchasing the brochure, 1998 in New Zealand):
Some brochures with English text, but not the RHD-cobblework, are from a German dealership from the town of Gießen, around where several US-troops are stationated.

Nice Lagonda. We don't have Escort VVX 958L on imcdb,
Have you understand the text on the display? This car was driven by Chris Sclater (GB) at the Rallye Monte Carlo in 1973.

... but livery is Mikkola on 72 RAC (badges, stickers, signwriting) (retired) and that car was VVX 958L (its only event as a works car before being sold off as a competition prize).
No. But I can recognise Mikkola and 72 RAC in the 2nd para. So did Sclater get hold of it and use it himself? Or is it Sclater's 73 Monte car done as a faked replica of Mikkola's 72 RAC car?

Translation of the display:
"Totally 21 LHD RS 1600 BDA were made by Ford as regular street-cars. An unknown amount of company-rallye-cars was made with a bodywork by the company Gomm, of those maximal 10 cars still exit today. This RS 1600 is an original car of those (= the company-rallye-cars) and was driven in 1973 by Chris Sclater at the Rallye Monte Carlo.
Racing operations of the 1600 BDA (I think the term "des" means here "the" for the BDA-series and not "this" for this specific car) were et al. the RAC-Rallye England 1972 with Hannu Mikkola and the winning of the British Rallye Trophy by Bill Coleman.
This car is in the "Embassy Racing Design".
The car belongs to that club: http://www.escort1.de/ (their homepage looks outdated. The last guestbook-comment is from 2007 and the gallery from the 90ies, the newest pics from 2001)
Also not really trustworthy for me was, that the other Rallye-Escort MkI was a fake, the MkII, too. For that reason I even didn't made pics. I generally ignore fakes, no matter, what ones.

Today I've been on http://youngtimervestival.de/
Not really my glass of beer, as too many tuned and pimped cars, but still with a plenty of classics, plus several unusal plates for the plate-freaks. Best weather -I even catched sligh traces of a sunburn- and not far away from here, so it was fine.
For dsl:
Its life-career:
"This Chevette is in original, unrestored condition, just little optical damages were repaired. The car has two previous owners. The first owner (born in 1917) had the car for 18 years and reached a mileage of 17.000 km in that time. The car was in 1999 rescued from a junkyard, in 2001 I got the car with 31.000 km on the clock. Meanwhile in the last 10 years I drove 13.000 km with it.
For sale:
The sheet with the details:
If needed, I can translate it completely. As a brief summary: Triumph Acclaim 1.3 Triomatic HLS, reg.10/1983, 2nd hand, original 47.000 km -veryfiable!- totally original including the 1983' tires, everything can be confirmed by the original dealer (today a Volvo-dealership, back in 1983 Jaguar and Austin-Rover).
3990,00 €
More pics later, it's dinner time now.

The Scimitar is more 'for Sandie' than 'for dsl'
Was the Acclaim originally sold in Germany then? I didn't realise they were sold there.

This was was sold originally as a new car in Germany, as to read on the sheet (the mentioned dealer shall confirm that, too).
So it seems, that it was in the official range of the (very very few) German Austin/Morris/BL-dealers, but the other question is, how big the selling rates were. Most probable some single cars were sold here on special request.
It seems to be similar with the selling of Rootes cars here. In a story about the only surviving original German sold Humber Sceptre (maybe the only officially sold one, too) the same was told. If you have ordered one at a Chrysler-Simca-dealer, you could get one. But it never happened, that they were delivered to the dealer and the dealer had to see, how he can sell it.
