Tofas model origin

Is it correct that all our Tofas should be listed as Turkish origin apart from one lonely Tempra - http://www.imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&make=Tofas&model= ?? If so why? I asked this at http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=519400 but no response, so repeated here.

I do not know, it is like the Seat or the Lada which also are Fiat made under licence.
In the next version of the site it will be possible to put two countries as origin. In the meantime I do not change much how cars are listed...

It is not so illogical. Despite few years ago I wrote, what I wrote at the Tempra page, now I have to correct myself a bit.
It is worth to note that Tofas made Tempras had Fiat badges with small "Tofas" tag at the boot lid. It was called in catalogue as Tofas only, but as I see now, it is described as Tofas Fiat at the used cars Turkish websites (not sure if official name though)
Anyway, by the badging, we can guess that deal was different, than in case of the older models (badged as Tofas only).
Also in Tempra times, FIAT had already notable shares in the Tofas company.

I'm not disagreeing with the Tempra, particularly with your info on badging. I think all these Fiat-based Tofas should be Origin I from the available info - the Tempra might be a bit more Italian than the others, but the differences you describe don't suggest to me enough of a reason that the others should be Origin Turkey.

Well, personally I am opposed to placing "=" sign between cars fully produced on license by quite independent companies and cars made abroad, but still by their "mother" companies (let alone CKD/SKD assembly).
I see notable difference between Fiats made today in Poland by the Italian FIAT and cars made in the past on FIAT license, but under own make and by the state factories. It is not the same.
Such manufacturers (despite some license agreement limits) are more free in making modifications on their own. There is also the whole way in matching the technical documentation to the local specifications. Sometimes you need to design some elements again.

I also do not like idea that, for example, Dacia sedan will have French origin, but Dacia pick-up Romanian. Same with notable facelifts, before it will be origin "x" and after origin "y". Who will judge is car modified enough to change origin?
1980s Avias looked ~same like 1960s Saviem, but meanwhile it was enough time to make original changes underneath.

We also have notable collection of cars desgined in country A for production in country B, like Zastava 101, prepared in Italy, then developed in Yugoslavia - their ultra stereotypic national car.

The antp's "double origin", not sure if is very necessary honestly, but maybe will be a good compromise.

The double origin solves problem with car based on another one: for example a pickup made on a French basis could have both French and Romanian origins (FR = base of the model, RO = that version)
