Indeed... but the author of the flags used on IMCDb hasn't updated his collection since 2005
I should maybe try to find another set of flags that are updated regularly.

The regular ones are a little big though, even in the smallest size. Maybe I can try resizing them, or use the waving ones which come in smaller size.

Also, it could be useful to have flags linked to the year of the movie/vehicle, so it automatically uses the right one if different from current. We made that for the new version of the site, maybe I should get that small part back to the current site

Done, I updated all the flags from https://flagpedia.net which took them from Wikipedia, so it will make easier all the future updates
I added a few missing countries at the same time.

Yes but as I need to be able to update them easily, having something more "basic" is maybe better.
About the size, in a way it looks good that all have the same size, but on the other hand not all flag have the same ratio, so it is kind of wrong to have all at the same width if we keep a fixed height (which is better to have them inline with text).

Maintaining this site is not easy, the slightest change and a lot of people ask to revert to how it was before... I can't imagine if we finished the new version that was started...

There were other countries added at the same time, I prefer to have all in the same style.

I'll probably sound a bit annoying but I think I belong to that "It was better before" members group too - not saying that I'm complaining about every single change made until now and I don't fancy new ones of course, but those new flags really look quite 'cheap' if you ask me.

The British flag looks particularly bad. Which is apt considering how things are going.

In addition to the Libya update (and maybe others that I did not notice...) these were added:

BL - Saint Barthélemy
GG - Guernsey
IM - Isle of Man
JE - Jersey
ND - United Kingdom / Northern Ireland
SS - South Sudan
XK - Kosovo

If someone has time to design these in the same style as the others, I can bring back the old set, even if I like the fact that the new ones respect the ratios of the flags.

Some others should still be added : Sint Maarteen (and possibly Saint Martin) & Curaçao
I didn't add these because Sint Marteen uses SX as code, which I already used for Scotland, so it is annoying

2 suggestions, although both historical rather than current:
- Rhodesia
- Macau

For Rhodesia we use Zimbabwe, which is historically wrong, but works as a system so it's not a big concern. Macau is a gap we haven't got a handle on. Theoretically we could use Portugal, but that doesn't sit well with what we find there which is very similar to HK.

If we explore the past, there are probably a lot more to add (or at least variants for countries which changed flags/names)
Luckily countries did not change that much since the start of car production

But with a fixed height a 1:1 ratio flag like Switzerland becomes a tiny cross, to really respect the dimensions you'd need a variable height... In reality whenever flags are shown together, like outside the NATO building in Brussels, they make the flags equal size.
