The most powerful cars I've driven are the Chrysler 300C and the Dodge Magnum RT (both have the same 340hp V8). Unfortuantly, it was kept to a rather small area, and we weren't allowed to turn the traction control off, so that sapped a little of the fun away.

The most powerful car I drove was a 1992 Chevrolet Cheyenne 2500. But it was a manual, and I didn't get much fun with it.

I did offroad with some friends in a V6 Blazer Sport. It really, really rocked. The weakest car I drove was my 2.3L I4 Tempo .

Manuals trans vehicles are the most fun! I think the most fun I got out of a vehicle was driving my dad's '81 Escort and shifting through all the gears. It might not have much power, but the manual trans made up for it.

Most powerful car I've driven? C6 Corvette w/ manual trans. Yum! Put a big smile on my face. I thought I was gonna explode from being so happy!

Well this was when I was like 8. No fun because I was barely learning to drive a automatic.
I learned again last year when I was 13 to drive a manual. It was a 1976 Jeep CJ-7. It was so fun! Super loud though, those things were not domesticated at all. It sounded like a jet engine taking off when you started it, and it blew out so much smoke through the exhaust you couldn't see the rear of the car. Then after a while, it sounded like a extremely loud lawn mower. But it was impossible to get stuck in that thing!

300" rear engine, top fuel dragster, 4500 hp..600 cubic inch Hemi, 1st time I drove one was in 1977, I went about 175 mph in a quarter mile in 6 seconds, last time I drove, I went just under 300mph in 4.9 sec. Now thats a ride

From my side, I think that the one with the more bhp was the SsangYong Musso, but I do not know what engine it had. Also the Saab 9-3, I think with the 1.9 TiD engine. Nothing exceptional.
Here in Europe average cars have smaller engines than in USA (taxes, petrol prices, etc.)
But the power of a car is sometimes difficult to define.
e.g. the Peugeot 106 Rallye of my father: it is only 100 bhp but as the car is only 810 kg weight, it is quite "sporty".
And has hard suspension, it allows much more than the Saab 1.9 TiD though it had the same performance for the "0 to 100 km/h".

Exact, you do not need much power when you have a light vehicle. The most powerfull I drove was a Citroën BX GTI 16v, which normally has 160bhp, but this one was tuned and had aprox 20 bhp more, and that with a weight of just around 1100 kilo's......it was an asthonishing expeirence....when you hit the accelarator down at 160km/h you get pushed backwards.....great power....

of course - it was written in one test very nicely - abou Bentley Continental GT - it has 560 HP, but remember, that every wheel carries a weight of one Lotus Elise

Although I've had quite a few American cars..these have been mainly mid-late 70's (fuel crisis time.!) ..so most were very severely de-tuned & clogged up with emission stuff by the time I drove them.! ..most powerful is probably around the 150-160 bhp mark.! (..I have driven more powerful vehicles ... Scania Omnicity bus ..260 bhp 9-litre engine ..also Dennis Darts/pointers/tridents with engines between 175 to 330 bhp.! ..also Volvo's & leyland Olympians (all over 300bhp) ...also driven Leyland & Seddon refuse trucks in the early 80's (..unknown how powerful they were.!)
..my least powerful car ..was my Reliant Robin 850 ...40 bhp.! (..but due to it's size and light weight...it was pretty fast.!) ..my least powerful vehicle ..my first bike.. 50cc Derbi gt4v ..4.7bhp.! ..my most powerful bike .. Moto Guzzi 850 T4 with Le-Mans conversion ..(had some modifications .. somewhere around 80 bhp)

oh! if we talk 2 wheels ...
- Garelli Eureka Flex 50, around 1.4 hp
+ (current) Guzzi California EV, 73hp (I still have to tinker around it .... )

Yes, and the fastest car I have driven would be my Mom's 04' Chevy Venture.

The fastest I've gone was 105-110 MPH in a rental Windstar and about 100 MPH in my Sable.

I've taken my old Intrepid up to 125mph, when the limiter kicked in. Not neccesarily the fastest (I know a Chrysler Crossfire can do 150), but the fastest I've driven.

Same here, I once went to about 90MPH in a Venture, in abandoned road. Fun, fun, fun.
