Here's one that I think should be split.
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_193105-unknown.html

Big Dave identified the '63 Pontiac Bonneville, and I exposed the mid-1960's Dodge pickup.

I do not think it is useful to list both. And there is already a later Bonneville model for that movie, a link from there could be added.

Okay, but I was looking for more unidentified trucks, and I found this needlenosed Kenworth:
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=72442
Which I now suspect is a 524.

This one was called as a T-800:

I recently realized that after getting no help from Hank's Truck Pictures, I had no other choice but to make a last-ditch effort to identify an NYC Sanitiation truck in "Up the Down Staircase," by writing to the Department of Sanitiation itself.

http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_180522-unknown.html

And I just got official word from the Department of Sanitation, and I quote;
---------------------------------------
"Great day Mr. Dey and fortunately we are able to make a reference to one of our vehicles compared to the one listed in the website that you provided; DSNY has a vintage Alley Collection. The manufacturer is IHC (Esclator Truck), Model Year 1962, Fuel Type Diesel, and is currently used as our museum truck. I hope that this information assist you.

---------------------------------------
I don't know what an "Esclator Truck" is, but this clearly looks like an R-Series.

One more obstacle solved. Now, I want to find this truck.

You mean that the one on the site is a 62 IH R-Series? Or the one in the collection mentioned?

Apparently, they're the same. I'd like to find out which museum it's supposed to be in. I thought there would only be some record of it stashed away for decades in some file at a warehouse in Long Island City, until it was put on computer.

I wouldn't expect a random truck like this to be in a museum, even if it appeared in this movie. Let's face it, the truck isn't exactly the Bluesmobile, and Up the Down Staircase wasn't the epic comedy that The Blues Brothers became.

I believe Esclator refers to the type of mechanism used inside the trash body of the truck, BTW, Great job chasing this one down Ddey.

That's what I though.

BTW, Great job chasing this one down Ddey.

Thanks. I just wish I was able to get some of the other background vehicles added to that movie. Besides the mid-1950's Belevedere, I'm most disappointed about not getting to add a couple of trucks. Speaking of trucks, I may've correctly identified this Magirus-Deutz truck a while back:

http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_202856-Magirus-Deutz-unknown.html

I was hoping somebody who knew Margirus-Deutz's better than me would give some confirmation, but I still found no reply.

Well, here are two identified Chevy's:

In the case of the second one, the only mystery about it is the year it was made.

These two fire engines:

are Orens.

For anybody else reading this, I didn't just add this thread for myself. If anyone else sees something that has been identified but is still listed as unknown, don't be afraid to post it here.
