And the third. I thought I had one of the rear end, including the authentic Japanese license plate, but no such luck.

I almost got a glimpse of the guy's dashboard here too, but that didn't work out either. I tried to chase him down, but my camera case and some SD cards fell out of my fanny pack, and I had to go back and pick them up.

Skylines are the only JDM cars I ever see here in the states, there are a few companies that import them and make them DOT Compliant before they sell them to the public.

Wasn't there some kind of legal issue with the Skylines?

The authorities went after and seized a few?

Kaizo had some issues in 2009 when the U.S. government seized several Skylines for not meeting EPA regulations:

A few months back I spotted a rare AMC Eagle coupe:

Cars seen on vacation:

Military thing seen in Germany. Isn't this a French-origin VAB ?

Audi RS2 on German autobahn. I was too slow to take the pic, so I had to use the zoom, but with the rain the car was not very visible anymore

In Croatia, a Fiat-licensed Zastava I guess:

Road train shuttle based on Unimog :

VW Golf with US-style plate holder, I guess it is a US-specs car then?

http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/2912/p10501601.jpg

VW bus T2 :

http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/4503/p10502391.jpg

Zastava :

Other vehicles seen in Croatia include of course many Yugo, which is normal, but also lots of mk1 Golf. It was built there, if I remember well. We do not see many of these anymore in western Europe.

That's a Thyssen-Henschel TPz Fuchs, which looks similar to a 6x6 VAB.

I had nothing to do for about an hour this morning so I spent the time driving around and checking the used car lots at most of the car dealerships in town. At one dealership I saw this Crossblade, I don't think it was for sale (as it only has temporary plates, it's not registered yet), but rather in for service. I've never seen one of these in real life before, but it seems to be quite the ideal car for the current weather here:

I also saw a matte grey BMW M3 (E92) with Monaco plates driving in the town centre.

Yesterday I went to another dealership to test drive an Opel Omega MV6 I'm considering to buy, and among the cars for sale there were a 2005 Porsche 911, and an RHD Range Rover. They've also had a 2008-ish Dodge Charger for sale for a long time, but it seems to have been sold now.

Finally, on Saturday I saw two different Ferrari F430s within two hours.

@Antoine: Yes, the Golf III is an US-version, to identify also by the bumpers and the hubcaps. So it's not only a boy-racer-tuning-dumbass, who has organized an US-spec tailgate for his crummy Golf. They like that feature very much.

The VW T2 Camper (Westfalia) is also the US-version (sidemarkers, whitewall tires).

And the RS2 can also be a Passat, a Golf or a Honda Civic

As I wrote in the other thread, on Saturday I've enjoyed again my favourite classic car event http://www.oldtimermarkt-bockhorn.com/index.php?id=2

But sorry, I didn't made photos. It ws quite hot (around 30 degrees), I was busy with rummaging around, talking with friends and fellows - and there would have been too much motifs for pics. Absolutely impossible to watch and photographe all stuff, which could be interesting for every of you here...

So just a Youtube, picked out of the WWW:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrbLXFXXiG8 (background at 3:43  )

There already are not many photstreams uploaded, as I see. Anyways, it will be to find more soon.

This afternoon I saw in the next town a 2nd gen. Vauxhall Zafira with the GB-made plate 48106 - so from Guernsey.

I've seen some Japanese sports cars pimped with small two line number plates in an attempt to make them look like JDMs.

@ingo: Near my home lives something very special, an authentic JDM Volkswagen Polo Typ 6N, with a special miniature Volkswagen badge on the tailgate to make the Japanese number plate fit. I haven't got a photo, but it looks like this:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:1996-1999_Volkswagen_Polo_rear.jpg

The one near me has a small plate at the back, just like a real Japanese JDM car.

Not only the badge is different, the whole tailgate is specially made for J. At other cars, for example the Audi A 6, it's made less complicated. There you only have inlays, in US-size or J-size for the place of the plate frame.

@rljuna2: Last Saturday, on the mentioned classic car event, I've heard a discussion of two blokes about car-lighting (I sometimes like to stand besides our cars, behaving as a random passerby, just for listening the comments  )
They stood in front of my K 70:
"Woah! Have you seen that? How many dead flies there are on hte headlights!"
"Uuh, yes - he must have driven on the Autobahn!"

I thought only "Hooray. Congratulations. Two smart alecks at the early morning" :kiki:

This weekend we had our K 70-meeting in Westphalia. One local classic car owner had visited us. He is even by himself not absolutely sure, what a car he is owning. He knows, that it was made in Brazil and that it has the aircooled 54hp-engine of the VW Typ 3.
