Found today in a press shop (news stand?) in Brussels, the #1 of the Fast & Furious collection for 2,99€:

https://www.antp.be/pic/miniatures/00000897.jpg

#2 is the silver & blue Skylike for 7,99€
Next ones are 15,99€
#3 is the orange Supra
#4 is the lime green Eclipse
I'll probably buy these too but stop after that

that sounds like those Hachette Collection offers we have sometimes here , buy the 1st for next to nothing and pay about twice for the same thing once the collection is complete..

what scale it is ?

i think news stand ( in one or two words ? not sure ) would be a better term

Yes, it is the same style as Hachette, here it is from Altaya (one of the most known here for such collections).
It is 1:43 scale
Usually for model cars even for the next issues it stays interesting: the same kind of model cars are always more expensive in regular stores (even online), but sometimes with better detailing (that's how they lower the price).

It's quite incredible that newsstand models (or partwork models as they're called in the UK) have gone, in the space of twenty years, from decontented models of mundane subjects, to well-detailed and very niche. And more often than not, they're exclusive to these collections.

In a world where die-cast models have become supremely expensive, if not cast in resin instead of metal, to me, newsstand models have become a breath of fresh air. Sure, not every model is perfect, and a few corners are sometimes cut, but there are a lot of stunning results out there.

Indeed. A large part of my collection comes from these models, which are a good price-quality compromise to me.

And mine these days. Part of the fascination is connecting things released under different names in other parts of the world, especially if they don't exist in the home territory. For instance no-one's ever done a Chrysler Avenger Estate, but the Argentine Dodge 1500 Rural is a doppelganger. Ditto 1950s Thames ET7 trucks, but there's a superb and imaginative series of Ebro B35 and B45 from Spain; BMC etc J4s and FGs as Sava built clones, and so on. The problem in UK is these rarely officially arrive here, so we have to pay customs and high shipping costs.

One of the members from Lighting-Gallery.net site made a Lego truck with streetlight maintenance. You can find this at Time to replace the lego street light

I saw it today. Definitely not my thing. Luckily there's still the "American Cars" series from the same publisher.

NBC has an upcoming summer show about Hot Wheels cars.

HOT WHEELS: ULTIMATE CHALLENGE

"New series Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge revs up to give passionate car lovers and superfans of Mattel’s Hot Wheels® the opportunity of a lifetime – turning a nostalgic car from their past into the life-sized Hot Wheels of their dreams. Hosted by car afficionado Rutledge Wood, each episode will invite two superfans into the Chrome Zone, where they will face off in transforming an ordinary vehicle into an extraordinary Hot Wheels showstopper, inspired by personal stories and pop culture touchstones. Working alongside a team of automotive magicians known as “The Car Pool,” the two superfans will create their designs in high-tech, decked-out garages. The winner of each episode will take home $25,000 and the chance to get into the finale where three lucky finalists will transform another car in hopes of winning a legendary prize – an additional $50,000 and the honor of having their design made into an official Hot Wheels die-cast car.'

It premieres on Tuesday, May 30

This week's model:

Probably the last one for me, as I find the other models are less iconic from the films, and I already have too many model cars

I unironically want that Fresh Cherries Tempo. I'm a sucker for not usually cast toy cars

Bought a ultra-cheap no-name Nissan Skyline with a missing rear axle from the flea market just for that
(somewhere between Prince and C10/C110, it's so detail-less I can't even tell which generation it is exactly)

Reply from waaay back but I finally found it again last weekend after clearing out some of my toy cars!

It is in fact a Skyline 2000 GT (so a C10). No maker's name on the bottom. The orange stain on the bumper is from a weird phase I had as a kid where I painted the headlights, grilles, license plates and tail lights on my cars...

wait , is that suppose to be a weird phase ? i did it to a few of my cars too but only headlights/tail lights ( ok, mostly on plastic models cars like the ones from Revell/Monogram/AMT but i have somewhere a Ford Galaxy that i tried to turn into a 1st gen Odyssey.. )

While at Target today, I found two cars to buy. One I found funny, it was part of the Greenlight Collectibles Charlie's Angels line, a 1974 Ford Gran Torino Brougham sedan:

https://www.3000toys.com/Greenlight-Diecast-1974-Ford-Gran-Torino-Brougham-Charlies-Angels/sku/GREENLIGHT44970-A

I found it funny because it was not a regular car on the show, used by the episode bad guy in a Season 1 Ep.:
https://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_1054944-Ford-Gran-Torino-1974.html

They also had an Auto World 1970 Chevy Impala Custom Coupe, part of the Luxury Cruisers line:
https://www.3000toys.com/Auto-World-1970-Chevrolet-Impala/sku/auto%20worldawsp118-a?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_dPd26Hk_gIVWRezAB0KKwXbEAQYBCABEgLhhfD_BwE

I haven't seen anything worthwhile in stores in a long while, but I can't resist models of dorky cars.

I got really close to buy the Impala but it was a blue one with white top, now that i know it is of the lowrider series it will stay there . I also wanted a metallic green 1967 Chevelle but i was already having more than i should buy in my hands ( including a 1984 Dodge Caravan , they are supposed to have its Plymouth twin around this summer )

Finally got my hands on the 1980 AMC Eagle .. . I've been checking over and over at Walmart since i saw they came out , only to get them at the dollar store ..

Also got my first ever Tucker , i wanted one for a long time....

Another make that i'm happy to find, classic NYC taxi

I don't have many AMC so apart of the Eagle, i got maybe one of the most popular Pacer

Probably the strangest Aston Martin i can think of..

Have a Hot Wheels one but i just couldn't resist that Chevelle

Just realize they're called 340 Special .. i wonder what was the Special, i paid full price ! ..

I don't have much Lincoln either ( a 1985-1987 Town Car , Matchbox and a Navigator , honestly i have to dig to find it if i have one ) so i wanted this one or this one but ended up with another one ..

Got also Cooter's tow truck and my first ever unmarked General Lee ( still looks strange without all the markings.. )

Missed my shot on a non-General Lee Charger .. maybe next time.. :ohwell:

Nice indeed
I'm always hesitating when I see these matchbox models (or majorette also here), but as I mostly collect 1:43, onlytthese are displayed, the smaller scales are stored in boxes so buying more of theses make no sense.
